Jack The Ripper!
Click On Klaus To Watch,
If that’s how you like it…

We got a special full length feature presentation for the ghouls among us today, as we focus on the grizzly murders of five prostitutes across the big pond. British police announced the arrest of two suspects in the Suffolk killings yesterday.
For those lacking background we offer vintage Klaus Kinski in the unsolved crimes of the original Jack The Ripper
Lee thought we should break you off something big since there is no theater review this week or next.

The following copy was obtained from Basque News and Information Channel
CHRONOLOGY
Chronology of Suffolk prostitute killings
12/18/2006
Police said on Monday they have arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of murdering five prostitutes. The women were all found dead in the space of 11 days in and around Ipswich in eastern England.
Below is a chronology of events.
Monday Oct. 30 – Sex worker Tania Nicol, 19, last seen leaving her home at Woolverstone Close, Ipswich at about 10:30 p.m.
Wednesday Nov. 15 – Prostitute Gemma Adams, 25, reported missing to police after she fails to return home after spending the evening in Ipswich.
Saturday Dec. 2 – Adams’ naked corpse is found in a brook at Thorpes Hill, Hintlesham, a few miles west of Ipswich.
Sunday Dec. 3 – Prostitute Anneli Alderton last seen travelling on the 5:53 p.m. train from Harwich to Colchester in Essex.
Thursday Dec. 7 – A motorist driving past woodland in Nacton to the east of Ipswich at 10:30 p.m. sees what he believes is an abandoned mannequin about 30 yards from the road. He does not report what turns out to be Alderton’s naked body to police.
Friday Dec. 8 – The naked body of Nicol is discovered in a stream near Copdock Mill, on the western edge of Ipswich, a couple of miles from where Adams was found.
Sunday Dec. 10 – Alderton’s body is discovered.
Monday Dec. 11 – Police say they are worried about the disappearance of another prostitute, 24-year-old Paula Clennell, who had not been seen since Dec. 9. Detectives also say that a fifth prostitute, Annette Nicholls, 29, had not been seen for at least a week.
Tuesday Dec. 12 – Police announce that 24-year-old Alderton was asphyxiated. Detective Chief Superintendent Stewart Gull tells a news conference “it appears she was strangled”.
Initial tests on Adams and Nicol, whose deaths the police are linking, indicate they were not killed in the same way.Later, police announce they have found two more naked bodies near where Alderton’s body was found. They say they are probably those of missing prostitutes Clennell and Nicholls.
Wednesday Dec. 13 – Police say they have had more than 2,000 calls from members of the public offering information. The News of the World newspaper offer 250,000 pounds, believed to be Britain’s largest ever reward, for help in catching the killer .

Friday Dec. 15 – Police confirm prostitute Nicholls as the fifth murder victim. They said all five murders were linked.
Saturday Dec. 16 – Police release surveillance television footage of Alderton, who was three months pregnant when she was murdered.
Monday Dec. 18 – Police announce they have arrested a 37year-old man on suspicion of all five murders.

Great reporting and even better police work! We hope our cousins across the big pond got the right guys…Only Time Will Tell!

When The Manchurian Candidate Wins
George W. Bush gave another of his Manchurian Candidate-like speeches yesterday standing amid the entire military leadership of the nation. I was struck, perhaps for the first time, at his delivery, demeanor, and clearly his insecure intellectual footing as he stumbled through the rant-styled preachy toned argumentative and unpersuasive rational for delaying the decision making process of his responsibilities as president of this country during wartime.

He made continuous efforts to explain that this is a tough situation and that he was not going to allow himself to be rush into action. Wise comment for a man not known heretofore for his wisdom, but I will let that go for the moment.
The president looked as though he was not quite up to his limited speed as he started out slower than usual and never actually got past the consistent message of “We want a democratic, self sustaining Iraqi government that can defend it’s self and be an ally in the fight against terror.”
I have heard this bumper sticker sloganeer laced rants as have most that are charged with keeping tabs on this administration, but something was different yesterday. Something seemed keenly out of kilter as my visceral inclination was to think this man may not be totally in control of his emotional and or mental faculties.
I admit, I posess no professional training in diagnosing mental illness, nor any degrees in the fields of psychoanalysis, but from what I have been able to discern, as just a guy on the street, with both public and private schooling, a college degree from a reputable university received here in the United States, for whatever that is worth, along with basic common sense, experience in the ways of the world and navigating it with some measure of success, this man we call leader of the free world showed signs of severe wear and tear that may require intervention by well meaning people that are not politically motivated to save the nation from further harm and image degradation.
For those that are interested, do yourselves a favor and pay careful attention to the presidents next public appearance and watch his temper management processes, listen to his phraseology and speech patterns as well as his mannerisms to see if you think this man should be the decider when it comes to matters of life and death. Anyone’s life, be it a death row inmate an innocent Iraqi an alleged insurgent or an American soldier on the battle field.
This is not only tough stuff, this is scary too!

Dennis Kucinich announces his candidacy for the presidency…Lee says unlikely, but he has the right message…Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama still playing coy with the media and their supporters on their plans… the president continues to meet with any and all to find out what to do next so he and he alone can decide…Lee says there is nothing scarier than that, considering the advice he is getting range from, more troops, to keep the same levels, to get them all out now…“This is tough stuff” To quote the soon to be former secretary of defense Rumsfeld…more Retro Radio Drama

Radiotheatre strikes a gory, gloomy, and ghastly cord with their radio styled stage performance of The Haunting of 85 East 4th Street at the Red Room in the east village Sunday past. This seasoned production company has done quality work consistently enough to be considered one of New York’s best in the off off Broadway, indie or black box theater category.
Not to be confused with the old time radio show concept, they let their audiences and soon to be fans know right up front that their productions are 21st century tales of horror, sci-fi, adventure, crime and romance. They keep you engrossed with a kick ass storyline, no matter what the tale they’re telling, with accomplished actors, a lighting crew that specializes in mood control and of course a flawless sound effects professionalism that has become their signature statement at all of their shows. At least that is how I received their efforts.
This story is about an old dilapidated brownstone in lower Manhattan with a horrid history of death and despair brought on by greed, corruption and unsavory characters occupying it, meeting their deserved fate by an unseen evil bent on avenging the long lost souls of past misdeeds.
Chronicling the history of the gruesome digs, the show is advanced by a team of actors on stage dressed in black, changing voices, characters and accents as they seamlessly transition from one tragic incident to another, all the while, holding their audience on the edge of their seats awaiting the next clash of thunder, gunshot or the unsuspected crazed screams.
One would think this is a yarn for the Halloween season, but I beg to differ as there is nothing more terrifying than being spooked on an occasion when you least expected.
For some great entertainment that you can take your kids to and save a buck at this ever expensive time of the year in New York, Radiotheatre is a best bet.
Without reservation, I offer this production as a holiday recommendation.

Why are we not looking more closely at this butt kisser as Rummy says farewell?

Nancy Pelosi’s decision making maybe suspect, as first picks for important posts are riddled with controversy…Hastings, Reyes,(rumor) (fact) the Murtha debacle and the Harman fallout, can only add to the legitimate questioning of how the future lady of the House will handle the upcoming Mollohan stinker… Rumsfeld gives final farewell to all while Lee questions why is the nation letting Chairmen of Joint chiefs of Staff Gen. Peter “Pan” Pace off the hook, as he stood front and center backing up Rummy as the nation headed for the edge of disaster in Iraq? …and more…Plus Retro Radio Drama
